Midnight Sun Retreat - Finland

Midnight Sun Retreat is on of a kind Yoga and Healing Retreat which will take place in the stunning Akola Manor located in Ii which means light in Sami language roughly 40km north of the city of Oulu, bordering Lapland in Finland. The location is in the Arctic. In the summer, the sun shines at midnight. In the winter, the temperatures can fall below -30 degrees.  

Akola Manor has a history going back 500 years. The current main building is protected historic country house built in 1796 when Finland was still part of the Swedish Kingdom. Akola was designed in the Gustavian style following regal guidelines. It represents an early and rare local timber interpretation of the period’s manor architecture. Located on the river Ii, Akola includes a group of out buildings for its estate workers and has retained resident farmers to this day.
